There are two keys to adults: a simple image-based, no
microscope required key, and a more inclusive, text-based
key that requires a microscope. The simple key should work with most CT specimens,
however, tiger beetles, like all living things, show
variation in color, shape and size. For this reason I have
included the text key which should, if properly used, work
in all cases. I recommend that the text key be used in addition to the
simple key when proper identifications are critical. If you have used both keys and doubt still remains
regarding the identity of your specimen(s) you can contact
me via email (dss95002@uconnvm.uconn.edu)
to discuss the possibility of loaning me the specimens so
that I may identitify them.
